This car is available to purchase now in New Zealand, with pickup from South Dunedin, Dunedin.
This 1970 VW Beetle was originally sold new to a doctor back in 1970, and from that day on it was clearly more than just transport - it was a car that was genuinely cared for. The original owner kept it for an incredible 45 years, something you rarely see with a classic of this age.
Over the years, the Beetle was treated to a full restoration, with new parts sourced from New Zealand, showing just how serious the owner was about keeping it right. Nothing was rushed either the restoration took place over a seven-year period, with attention put into getting the car back to a standard it truly deserved. During the rebuild, a fully rebuilt engine was also fitted, bringing the car back to life the way it should be.
Even better, the history is there to back it up, with plenty of receipts and photos of the restoration and rebuild work along the way.
Sadly, not long after the restoration was completed, the original owner passed away. The car then stayed within the family for a while, before eventually being sold on and that''s how it has found its way to us today.
It''s not often you come across a Beetle like this a proper vintage classic with a genuine backstory, restored correctly, and kept in this condition. If you''re looking for something special, this is one that needs to be seen.
Very rare. Very original. Very hard to replace.
